You Can Do It: Honoring Women's History Month
Celebrate Women's History Month with author Jill Tietjen at the Silt Branch Library on Tuesday, March 6, at 7:00 p.m. Tietjen co-authored the best-selling book, Her Story: A Timeline of the Women who Changed America, which is a vivid documentation of the breadth and diversity of American women's achievements throughout U.S. history. Tietjen is one of the country's top historians on the topic of women in science and technology.
Chinese New Year Party for Teens
Come find out if you're a Rat or a Dragon! (Or a Horse, or maybe a Monkey...) Join us at the Silt Branch Library from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, to celebrate Chinese New Year. Learn about the Chinese Zodiac (like, what does it mean to be a Snake?), snack on egg rolls, and create your own Chinese lantern. We'll also have a drawing for a gift card from Hong's Garden in New Castle! Call the library at 876-5500 for more information.

Create Ukrainian Eggs for Easter
Jaci Spuhler will return to the New Castle Branch Library on Saturday, March 10, to teach the traditional method of creating pysanky, or Ukrainian Easter eggs. Due to popular demand, we will host two workshops: 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2-5 p.m. Space is limited to 10 students per class, so please register in advance at the library or by calling 984-2346. The class is open to everyone in grade 9 and up. There is a materials fee of $3 per person.

Bks2U @ Grand Valley H.S.
Teens, the Parachute Branch Library will deliver books to Grand Valley High School at lunch time on January 4 and February 1. Cool, huh? Spring Break Movie Matinee
The Rifle Branch Library will be hosting a movie matinee on Tuesday, March 27, at 1 p.m. Join your friends at the library for popcorn and a movie during your Spring Break from school. We hope to see you there!
"The Hunger Games" Movie Release Party
It's almost here! The movie version of The Hunger Games, Suzanne Collins' blockbuster novel (and first in the trilogy), opens on Friday, March 23, 2012. Join your fellow THG-fans for a movie release party on March 16 at 6 p.m. at the Rifle Branch Library. Since THG deals with some pretty intense subject matter, the party is for readers in middle school and older. For more information, contact Amy at 625-3471.
