Memories of the Future
Help us decorate and fill a time capsule! Teens are invited to fill out a “me” questionnaire, create an original piece, or bring in something (that you will not have need for in the next year) to put in a time capsule. We will decorate and hide the Time Capsule in the basement to be opened January 2014. Be sure to bring something with your name and good phone number or email so we can invite you to the opening next January!

Winter Lecture Series: Mines of Coal Basin
“Mines of Coal Basin” is a book which recounts tales of adventure, courage, determination and innovation in Redstone Colorado. The author, John A. Reeves resides in Glenwood Springs and is the featured speaker in the first installment of the Winter Lecture Series, co-sponsored by the Frontier Historical Society and the Friends of the Glenwood Springs Library.
Friends of the Parachute Branch Library Annual Meeting-Happy Feet
Join the Friends of the Library and their invited guest Dr. Gerhard Rill. Dr Rill will share his passion...healthy feet. If you have ever had hurting toes you know how important this can be. Gerhard guarantees to entertain and inform!
Gerhard Rill is a graduate of the Munich School of Orthopedics. He completed his residency in the United States then practiced in Germany for several years before relocating to Colorado.
Wii! Study Break
Join us at the New Castle Branch Library at 2:00 p.m. on January 12th for an afternoon of Wii games!
Yoga for Teens
Felicia Trevor will be teaching her five week series ” Introduction to Yoga” to teens beginning Wednesday, January 9th from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m. at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library. The class will include postures for toning and energizing, use and benefits of aromatherapy, breathing exercises for relaxing, meditation for well being, and color theory for increased awareness. Come join us, bring a friend, and wear comfortable clothes. The class will be held on the lower level of the library. It is free of charge and open to teens.

Digital Camera Club
This is an informal gathering of people interested in all aspects of digital photography, from beginners to seasoned professionals. Bring your cameras, questions, and photos in any form. If they are on a disc or memory stick we can project them onto a large screen for all to see. Club meets on the second Wednesday of every month at the New Castle Branch Library.
Whatever Book Club
For those that want to be part of a book club but don't want to be told what to read, this is the book club for you. Bring WHATEVER book/manga/graphic novel/etc. you are currently reading and share with the group your thoughts, opinions, revelations- anything you want to share! Snacks and refreshments provided with varying book club activities. The club meets the second Tuesday of each month from 4:30 - 5:30 at the Rifle Branch Library.
Teen Advisory Group
Teens (ages 13 to 17) are invited to be part of the library Teen Advisory Group. Share your thoughts about activities and resources you would like to see at the library. TAG will meet on the second Tuesday of each month from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Light snacks will be served.
Manga & Anime Club
Do you love Manga and Anime? So do we! Join us at the New Castle Branch Library on Thursdays at 5:00 p.m. to talk about your favorites, get recommendations, and practice your drawing skills.
