The Carbondale Branch Library invites you to improve your art skills or learn something new as we work on a project in the Teen Artist Workshop on Thursday, October 3 at 4:00 pm. This workshop features different projects and artists every month, which will be held on the first Thursday of every month. This month, join Youth Services Librarian Jeannine to make beautiful or edgy jewelry out of hardware like nuts, bolts, and washers as part of the Middle School Madness series.
Teens are invited to use our iPad TabLab in the community room to explore great apps, browse the internet, play games, or do schoolwork. This event will take place at the Carbondale Branch Library every Monday and Wednesday in November from 3:30 - 5:00 pm.
Jerry Cunningham, Rifle Chess Club Coordinator, has been playing chess for most of his life. Lot of folks know how to move chess pieces, but Jerry will teach Chess Tactics for Beginners. This program will be held on Wednesday, November 6 at 6:30 pm. Class is limited to 12 participants, ages 18 and up.
Residents and students of Garfield County explored their communities and took photos related to healthy eating and active living over the summer as a part of LiveWell Colorado's Image to Action program. Photos can be found here. The Rifle Branch Library will be displaying these photographs between October 1 and November 30. An Art in the Stacks Reception will be held on Friday, November 1 at 6:00 pm as part of the City of Rifle's First Friday celebration.
Teens! Join us for the book club that combines reading and discussing good books with delicious banana splits. Banana Split Book Club is held on the third Thursday of every month at 4:30 at the New Castle Branch Library.

In conjunction with America Recycles Day on November 15, New Castle Branch Library teens will produce a work of art out of recycled materials. This event will occur at 2:00 pm at the New Castle Branch Library. We will repurpose old books, grocery bags, cans, etc. to produce something beautiful. Bring something out of your recycle bin or use our supplies, but come ready to craft!
Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to join us for the chance to plan programs, purchase books, movies and music for teens. Stick around after the meeting for games, crafts and snacks! TAG meetings are held at the New Castle Branch Library every second Thursday of the month.
"Catching Fire" is set to be released in theaters on November 22, and the Rifle Branch Library will be hosting a party for teens to celebrate the premiere! Join us on Wednesday, November 20 starting at 5:00 pm as we watch "Hunger Games", enjoy some pizza, play a few movie related games, and have a chance to win tickets to the movie premiere!
The Symphony in the Valley is teaming up with the Glenwood Springs Branch Library to celebrate America’s Music! On Thursday, November 21 at 7:00 pm the symphony will be closing out the America’s Music program series by performing compositions from various American composers. Join us for an evening of good music, refreshments, and celebration!
