Santa will be visiting the Carbondale Branch Library early this year, so stop by to give him your holiday wish list. Have your picture taken with Santa, make an ornament, and decorate cookies! Cookies, cider, and candy canes will be provided! Our party will take place Saturday, December 14 from 11:00 - 1:00 pm in our Community Room.
This free introductory class on Friday, Dec. 20 at 9 am at the Parachute Branch Library will offer hands-on training for adults who have basic computer skills and are new users to the Internet. You will be able to identify some uses for the Internet, identify the parts of a URL and learn how to navigate to web pages, examine the elements of a web browser & web page, discuss how to stay safe while on the Internet, and you will be introduced to the Library website. You will also have the opportunity to have your computer questions answered by our tech experts.
Join us at the Carbondale Branch Library for ukulele nights on the 1st and 3rd Monday and 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month at 6:00 pm. In December, we will not meet on the 4th Wednesday, December 25, due to the Christmas holiday. Bring your ukulele and a song to share if you have one and Get Your Uke On at the Carbondale Branch Library. For beginners through experts, age 6-99. Non-ukers are welcome to sit in. To quote ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro, “if everyone played the ukulele, the world would be a better place.”
WRITE ON with the Carbondale Library Writers' Group on Monday, December 9 at 6:30 pm! The goal of this monthly group is to provide a supportive environment for writers of all genres; from the novice to the experienced. Attendees will have the opportunity to share and explore their own writing, their peers’ writing and writing in general. Open to all writers and future writers, teen and adult. Feel free to bring a snack or dinner.

Come celebrate Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights! We will be hosting a Hanukkah Party at the Carbondale Branch Library on Monday, December 2 at 4:00 pm. We'll sing Hanukkah songs, light a Menorah, play with Driedels (spinning tops), and eat Latkes (potato pancakes). This year Hanukkah begins the night of November 27, and ends the night of December 5. Do you have a favorite Hanukkah recipe? Feel free to bring a dish of latkes, donuts, or cookies to share. This event is open to everyone: those who celebrate Hanukkah and anyone interested in learning more about this holiday.
