Museum Natural History Interactive Earth Science Program
Come to the Rifle Branch Library on Wednesday, July 11th at 7:00 pm when representatives from the University of Colorado's Museum of Natural History are coming to the Rifle Branch Library with objects and specimens from the museum's collections. Museum representatives will set up interactive stations and host earth science activities for families that communicate the science being studied at the museum.
Paws to Read
Practice reading to a friendly dog! Indy the dog provides a pressure-free audience for children to practice their reading-aloud skills -- and he loves to listen to stories! This event requires advance registration and parent permission. Sign up for a 15-minute session at the New Castle Branch. This event is held on the second Tuesday of every month, starting at 6:30 p.m. Paws to Read is also held at our Gordon Cooper (Carbondale) and Rifle Branches.
Wii Wednesday- Summer Edition
All teens and tweens in middle school and up are invited to drop in for fun, friends, and food as we host open play gaming on our Wii console each week.
Mammal Skulls of Colorado
Come to the Rifle Branch Library on Wednesday, June 27th to learn about mammal skulls of Colorado! This interactive presentation will use skulls of various mammals which can be found in Colorado. The participants will learn how to differentiate between skulls of carnivores, herbivores, and omnivores. They will also learn about predator and prey species. The skulls are used to look at the teeth, jaw structure, eye sockets, and cranial ridges.
Bat Bedtime Storytime
Come to the Rifle Branch Library at 6:30 on Tuesday, July 17th for Bat Bedtime Storytime.
Preschool age children can listent to bat stories, create a fun bat craft, and enjoy special bat treats. This program is concurrent with Got Bats?- a program for older children and adults.

Come to the Rifle Branch Library on Tuesday, July 17th at 6:30 pm for Got Bats?
Location is everything when one tries to find a suitable living area and the Rifle Falls' bats are no exception! Join Terry Wise, the park naturalist for an interactive presentation on everything you wanted to know about bats but were afraid to ask. Children can create a bat craft following the presentation. This program is concurrent with Bat Bedtime Storytime- a program for preschool children.
