Writing and Drawing for FUN!

Join other aspiring young writers and illustrators at the New Castle Branch Library on Thursday, December 9th at 4:30 p.m. as we explore the secrets of writing and illustrating. Eventually, we hope to create an anthology of short stories by our local your elementary school age writers and artists.  Participants must be able to write.

Censorship Exhibit at the Rifle Branch Library

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Banned Books Week, the Rifle Branch Library is hosting an exhibition entitled: “The Bonfire of Liberties: Censorship of the Humanities.” This exhibit will be at the Rifle Branch Library from September 17 through October 15.

Decorate Your Own Halloween Trick or Treat Bag!

Join us at the Rifle Branch Library for a special Halloween arts and crafts! On Friday, October 26 at 1:00 we invite children to decorate their own trick or treat bags. Jack-O-Lanterns, bats, witches and ghouls galore! Materials provided by the library, no participation fee necessary. Supplies are limited to the first 60 children.

Tween Book Club

Tweens (ages 9 to 12) are invited to read and talk about good books at the library. The Tween Book Club meets after school on the second Thursday of each month from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library. Light snacks are served. 

Preschool Storytime

 Preschoolers, ages 3 to 5, and their accompanying adults are invited to attend story time at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. 

Toddler Storytime

Toddlers and their accompanying adults are invited to attend storytime at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. 

Reading Buddies

 Be a Reading Buddy at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library. Younger readers (kindergarten to third grades) will be paired with older reading buddies (fourth to eighth grades) to practice reading and develop a love for reading. Reading Buddies meets at the library from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. every Tuesday during the school year. First-time participants please sign up at the library or by calling 945-5958.

Ready to Read Preschoolers Storytime

Love a great story?  Watch it come alive and take part in this interactive story time with Miss Michelle.  This storytime for preschoolers takes place at the Parachute Branch Library on Mondays at 11:00 a.m.
