5th Element 3-4 Class @ Rifle

Children in 3rd and 4th grades are invited to the Rifle Branch Library on Friday, January 18 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. to learn about the three planes found in a composition with Ms. Ashley Atwater. We will look at famous artists’ masterpieces and determine where foreground, middleground, and background are located in each work. Students will then create their own artwork by painting, drawing, collage and more for a class art gallery where students can enjoy everyone’s artwork! Supplies and snacks will be provided.

5th Element K-2 Class @ Rifle

Children in kindergarten through 2nd grade are invited to the Rifle Branch Library on Friday, January 18 from 12 to 2 p.m. to learn about the three planes found in a composition with Ms. Ashley Atwater. Students will explore lines, textures, shapes, and primary and secondary colors. We will examine how these elements appear in famous works of art, and then we will create our own pieces of art through drawing, painting, and collage. We will create a class art gallery where students can enjoy everyone’s artwork! Supplies and snacks will be provided.

Preschool Storytime

 Come to the Gordon Cooper Branch Library on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. where you can enjoy books, songs, and more at Preschool Storytime!  Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Are you bored on Fridays? Do you wish you could have some kids to play games with? Well don't be, come on down to the Library and Mr. Stanley will have all kinds of board games, like chess, checkers, and Yahtzee—just to name a few. Oh, by the way, those games will help you with your math skills. This program will be held at the New Castle Branch Library on Friday, December 14 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. and is for children in kindergarten through 2nd grade.

Children in kindergarten through 2nd grade are invited to the New Castle Branch Library on Friday, December 7 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. to for a fun time with geometry with Mr. Stanley. We will build 3D structures with toothpicks and marshmallows. Who knows what other crazy things Mr. Stanley has planned! Come and find out. Supplies and snacks will be provided. This class is limited to 25 children, and preregistration is required to attend this event.

Gain a better understanding of fractions by using fractions in art, music, and preparing food (yes, we get to eat the food!). Students will work with fractions appropriate for their own grade level.
