Stages of Reading Development Workshop
Please join Literacy Outreach and guest trainer, Evan Weatherbie, for a workshop on the stages of reading development on Tuesday, May 10 at 6:30 p.m. at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library. This workshop will be extremely useful for anyone working with an emerging reader—second language learner or basic literacy student. This workshop is an overview of the different reading stages.

Spring Book Sale at the Glenwood Springs Library: Friends Preview!
Friends members are invited to the book sale preview on Friday, May 6, from 5-7 p.m. Friends memberships will be available at the door for $10/person.
The Spring Used Book Sale at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library is open to the public from Saturday, May 7, through Saturday, May 14. The book sale will be open from 10 a.m. (1 p.m. on Sunday, May 8) to a half-hour before regular closing hours.
Your donated dollars for these items will go to the Friends of the Glenwood Springs Branch Library!
Spring Book Sale at the Glenwood Springs Library
Even the library is doing some spring cleaning! We have lots of books that need a new home. Come pick out some new titles for your home collection at our Spring Used Book Sale at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library from Saturday, May 7, through Saturday, May 14. The book sale will be open from 10 a.m. (1 p.m. on Sunday, May 8) to a half-hour before regular closing hours.

Sunflower Summer
Sopris Sunflower City Spectacle
The Gordon Cooper Branch Library and KDNK announce the kick off of the 1st Annual “Sopris Sunflower City Spectacle”. It is the goal of these two organizations to make Carbondale bloom with Sunflowers this summer. At the end of the summer KDNK will have a contest to name the best sunflower in Carbondale.
How to Share Digital Photos
So, you have a new digital camera, but don't know how to share your photos with friends and family? The Parachute Branch Library is hosting a class just for you! Local tech expert Joe Sluga will guide you through the process. Bring your digital camera and all the necessary cords to the library on Wednesday, May 11 from 12-2pm or on Thursday, May 19 from 7-9pm. You can bring your own laptopo or use one of ours. Mac users are welcome; though, we are using a Window platform. Reservations are required. Call 285-9870 for more information.

Share Your Story: How did you come to Glenwood Springs?
Celebrate National Library Week with us! Come to the front desk at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library anytime between April 10-16 to get a story sheet, write a brief account of how you came to Glenwood Springs, and return the sheet to the librarians at the front desk. Your name is optional. We will post your story on the bulletin board in our lobby. We will also give you a pushpin to use to mark your place of origin on our world map.
