In celebration of the Chinese New Year, the Gordon Cooper Branch Library in Carbondale, in partnership with Out of the Mud Puppet and Mask Theatre, presents a magical shadow puppet production of "Lin Yi's Lantern." Directed by local artist Soozie Lindbloom, it is a tale of a boy who finds out that giving is its own reward. Recommended for ages 5 and up. Showtimes are at 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 2.

The Gordon Cooper Branch Library will once again host a visit from Santa Claus on Saturday, December 17, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Drop by the library to say hello to Santa, listen to holiday stories, and decorate some holiday ornaments. Jim Campbell, PhD, and Sandy Jackson, MA, both adjunct professors at Colorado Mountain College, will talk about their experiences at the Snowmass dig site during the summer of 2011. Join us at the Gordon Cooper Branch in Carbondale on November 10 at 7 p.m. to learn about the excavation process and what was discovered.
