The Friends of the Rifle Branch Library are proud to host Polly Letofsky, author of the memoir, 3 mph: The Adventures of One Woman’s Journey Around the World. In 2001 Polly Letofsky left her hometown of Vail, Colorado to trek across four continents on foot. Her mission: promote breast cancer awareness and become the first woman to walk around the world. Along the way she relied on the kindness of strangers, experienced a wide array of cultures, and struggled through earthquakes, muggings, and the tragic events of September 11. Join us on Monday, December 9 at 6:30 p.m.

Our adult Scrabble Club meets from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month in the conference room of the Glenwood Springs Branch Library. Beginners and experts alike are encouraged to join our club, which is free and open to the public. Make new friends and learn new Scrabble strategies. Scrabble boards, scoring materials, and dictionaries are provided.

This free introductory class will be held on Friday, December 6 at 9:00 am at the Parachute Branch Library. We offer hands-on training for adults who have basic computer skills, some internet experience, and are ready to learn all about e-mail. In this class, you will learn about e-mail providers, how to sign up for e-mail, best practices regarding e-mail use and security, and how to print e-mails out properly. You will also have the opportunity to have your computer questions answered by our tech experts. Class space limited to 6 participants.
