AARP Safe Driving Class

Come to the Rifle Branch Library on Thursday, July 19th from 1:00 to 5:00 pm for an AARP sponsored safe driving class.  Cost of the class for AARP members is $12.00 and $14.00 for non-members. Checks can be made out to AARP.  

New Castle Branch Library Digital Camera Club

Anyone interested in any aspect of digital camera is welcome to come to the New Castle Branch Library on Wednesday, September 12th to share their successes and get answers to burning questions. Bring your camera, printed photos, photos stored in a memory stick, or on-line. We have wi-fi and a large-screen projection system here at the library so everyone can make the most of the discussion. Whether you are a beginner or experienced photographer you will have a fun time.

Ladies Who Do Lunch Book Club

Join us at the Parachute Branch Library on Tuesday, August 21st from noon to 2:00 pm for a pot-luck lunch and a great book discussion. This month we are reading Antler Dust or Buried by the Roan by Mark Stevens. We selected these books as the author, Mark Stevens will be visiting the library September 13th.

Tackle It Tuesday

Join at the Parachute Branch Library from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Tuesday, August 14th as we sew or craft. Tables, ironing borards and irons are all ready for your use.

Rifle Friends Book Club

 The Rifle Branch Library hosts a book club for all adults and teens on the third Tuesday of each month at noon. For for current title and more information about the club, please contact the library at 625-3471.

Reel Readers

Read the book and join us for the movie (even if you haven't read the book). A discussion follows the movie. The food varies each month so be sure to phone ahead and find out what crazy food is planned. This month's the selection is: Extremely Loud and Incredible Close by Jonathan Safran Foer.

Program takes place on Friday, September 21st from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.

Author Talk: Meet Mark Stevens

Looking for a top notch mystery where the pages practically turn themselves. Join author Mark Stevens, a natural born storyteller, as he takes us to the Colorado Flat Tops wilderness area as two hunters go missing. His books Antler Dust and the sequel Buried by the Roan will be available for signing and purchase. Program takes place on Thursday, September 13th at 7:00 pm. Free tickets are available until August 13.

Paying for College Workshop

College costs can be staggering and it seems they are going up all the time. Join Colorado Mountain College's financial aide counselor with the latest information on grants, loans, scholarships and loans. If you have questions like: Who qualifies for what or what is a work study this is the place for you. Parents and students are encouraged to attend.

Program takes place at the Parachute Branch Library from 6:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, September 24th.

Ladies Who Do Lunch Book Club

 Each month the ladies gather for a pot luck lunch and have a lively discussion on our book of the month selection. This month: Defending Jacob by William Landay was selected for the unanswered questions.

 You look at that blank page and wonder how to use all those icons? Start on a letter and get stuck on just how to format ? This 2 part class is designed to help you become a confident Microsoft Word user. Class is from 9:00 to 10:00 am on Tuesday, September 18th AND September 25th at the Parachute Branch Library. Class size is limited.
