Imagining War-- Book Discussion

Join us at the Silt Branch Library on Saturday, October 13th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. for the first of five discussions on the American Civil War. Sarah Swedberg, Ph.D, Associate Professor of American History at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, will provide a background lecture and lead the conversation on the selected readings: "March" by Geraldine Brooks, and "America's War" anthology--Part One.

Halloween Costume SWAP

Have your kids outgrown last years costumes?  Need a creative and inexpensive way to build your costume?  Join us at the Parachute Branch Library on Saturday, October 6th from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon for the first annual Costume Swap.  Drop off costumes all week beginning Tuesday October 2nd and you  will be given a SWAP ticket.  Tickets can be redeemed Saturday October 6 from 10am to noon.  

Ladies Who Do Lunch Bunch

Join the Ladies Who Do Lunch Bunch on Tuesday, November, 20th from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm at the Parachute Branch Library as we discuss Before I Go to Sleep by S. J Watson and enjoy a pot-luck lunch.

For teens this is a chance to increase your college resume, connect with the adults from the community and share the power of a great read. Carbondale's One Book One Town

Join us at the Round Room at the 3rd Street Center in Carbondale on Monday, October 22nd at 6:30 for a special author event celebrating the 9th annual One Book One Town.  This year's selection, "Nothing Daunted" by Dorothy Wickenden, is available for checkout at the library.

AARP Safe Driving Class

Come to the Rifle Branch Library on Thursday, July 19th from 1:00 to 5:00 pm for an AARP sponsored safe driving class.  Cost of the class for AARP members is $12.00 and $14.00 for non-members. Checks can be made out to AARP.
