Stocking Stuffers for Sale
Our elves have been busy! Take a peek under our tree in the lobby and select a book that's already wrapped and ready to give. A simple tag gives you a general genre clue. These make great stocking stuffers- a surprise for all! All proceeds go to The Friends of the Library. Stocking Stuffers for Sale takes place at the Parachute Branch Library from December 3rd until the 22nd.
Wrap It Up
Need time and space to wrap up those gifts? We are here to help with big tables and lots of space so you can wrap away! No secrets will be revealed. Even enjoy some refreshments while you toil away. Wrap It Up takes place at the Parachture Branch Library on Thursday, December 6th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Ladies Who Do Lunch Bunch
Join us at the Parachute Branch Library on Tuesday, December 18th from noon to 2:00 p.m. as we discuss The Christmas Pearl by Dorothea Benton Frank while we enjoy a pot-luck lunch.
Tackle It Tuesday
Calling all quilters, stampers, needle crafters and scrap bookers! Want to have a day of fun and accomplishment? We’ll have tables, irons, ironing boards and cutting mats all set up for your convenience. Drop in and bring your project for a day of crafting, food, and friends. Bring your own lunch; refreshments will be provided. Tackle it Tuesday takes place at the Parachute Branch Library from 10:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 11th.
David Mason presents "Ludlow"
This year, CMC’s Common Reader selection is “Ludlow” by Colorado’s Poet Laureate, David Mason. This verse novel tells the story of the Ludlow Massacre in southern Colorado on April 20, 1914, where immigrant miners on strike and their families were attacked and many were killed by the Colorado National Guard. This selection reflects on a momentous event in American labor relations and in Colorado history.

Creating, Developing & Publishing a Book in Today’s Market
Is there a Book in You? Join Misheel Chuluun, local author of “Write a How-to Book in 7 Days,” (authored under pen name Sam Sterling) at the New Castle Branch Library on Wednesday November, 7 at 6 p.m. where she will talk about what aspiring authors can expect to face in the publishing industry. Chuluun will discuss key mistakes new authors make, the latest developments and options in the marketing industry, and new methods for marketing, researching, and publishing.
DACA Info Session @ the Library
McGuire Law, an immigration law firm, is coming to the Glenwood Springs and Gordon Cooper Branch Libraries to host a free information program about the new Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy. DACA allows qualifying undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States as children to receive deferred legal status and work authorization. The program will include a presentation about the policy, including eligibility requirements, methods of application, risks and benefits of applying, and where to find more information.
