Cross-stitching

Have you ever wanted to cross-stitch or are you looking for an idea? The library’s Melissa Colasinski will be demonstrating the basics and each attendee will be given a starter pack to get the ball rolling.  The class takes place at the Silt Branch Library on Thursday, November 29th at 6:00 p.m. and is free and open to the public.  Space is limited.  Please call the Silt Branch Library at (970) 876-5500 to reserve your place.
 

Ladies Who Do Lunch Bunch

Join us at the Parachute Branch Library on Tuesday, October 16th from noon to 2:00 p.m. as we discuss The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.  We'll also have a potluck lunch.

Scrabble Club

If you love words, games, and having fun, this club is for you! Our adult Scrabble Club meets from 5:30-8 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library. Beginners and experts alike are encouraged to join, and the club is free and open to the public. Make new friends and learn new Scrabble strategies. Scrabble boards, scoring materials, and dictionaries are provided. 

Friends of the Glenwood Springs Branch Library Fall Book Sale

  Find a great read at a bargain price at the upcoming used book sale, sponsored by the Friends of the Glenwood Springs Branch Library. The sale will be held from Saturday October 6th through Saturday October 13th. Don’t miss the special preview for Friends members on Friday October 5th from 5 pm to 7 pm. Friends memberships are available at the door.

All Libraries Closed for Holiday

All Garfield County Library locations will be closed on Thursday, November 22nd and Friday, November 23rd for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Tackle It Tuesday

Calling all quilters, stampers, needle crafters and scrap bookers! Want to have a day of fun and accomplishment? We’ll have tables, irons, ironing boards and cutting mats all set up for your convenience. Drop in and bring your project for a day of crafting, food and friends. Bring your own lunch; refreshments will be provided.  Tackle It Tuesdays takes place at the Parachute Branch Library from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on November 13th.

New Castle Branch Library Digital Camera Club

This is an informal gathering of people interested in all aspects of digital photography, from beginner to seasoned professional. Bring your cameras, questions, and photos in any form. If they are on a disc or memory stick we can project them onto a large screen for all to see.  Club meets at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14th.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Banned Books Week, the Rifle Branch Library is hosting an exhibition entitled: “The Bonfire of Liberties: Censorship of the Humanities.” This exhibit will be at the Rifle Branch Library from September 17 through October 15.
