There are many good sources for free ebooks on the Internet.  Below are a few of our favorites.

 

Project Gutenberg

This is the best source for classic and out of copyright titles.  Most titles are availble in multiple formats including ePub, PDF, Kindle, and more.  If you can't find a classic title in our catalog, try Project Gutenberg.

 

Free-eBooks.net

Free-eBooks is a website where authors can self-publish ebooks.  The quality of ebooks on this site varies, but readers can "like" or "dislike" titles to help you separate the wheat from the chaff.  When you register with the site you can download up to 5 ebooks per month for free, although you are limited to PDF and a few other basic formats.  Most ereaders and mobile devices, except for Kindle ereaders, can use PDF ebooks.  Additional formats and unlimited titles are available for a membership fee.

 

Baen Books

Baen Books is offering the Baen Free Library, a collection of science fiction ebooks available for free download in all of the most popular ebook formats.
